Find the plurk theme on our site that you would like to install on Plurk.  Click and highlight the CSS code that looks like the below image:

Right Click and Choose Copy.  Now go to Plurk.com and login.

Once you are logged in go to the upper left hand corner where it says My Profile and click on the Edit link right next to it.  Profile Settings appers.

Where it says “Customize Your Profile Even More With CSS” right click in the box below it.  A box appears, and click on “Paste”.  The CSS text you copied from our page should show up in the box.

Click the “Save and Update” box at the bottom.  The theme should be applied immediately.

Congratulations!  You’ve just customized your Plurk profile.  Now, check out more of our themes and start customizing your profile.  Karma will reward you!

Want to sneak the Plurk system and put some fun emoticons on your theme?  *WARNING* - This trick might give you bad Karma, not plurk bad karma, but karma bad karma, so you’ve been warned.  That’s the reason for the screaming monkey.  Here’s the link to the emoticon: http://www.addemoticons.com/emoticon/monkey/AddEmoticons12622.gif provided by AddEmoticons.com.

You can find a large amount of free emoticons by typing “free emoticons” in Google, which will give you all sorts of emoticons.  When you find the one you like right click on it and select “View Image”.

This will take you to a page with the exact url of the emoticon.  Copy the address from your web browser’s address bar:

Than type your message in the Plurk Message Bar and enter the url of the emoticon like so:

Hit enter or click the Plurk button.  It will now show up in your Timeline.

Alright, so now you can put in all sorts of fun emoticons.  Don’t forget about Karma, though, if you want to use all the fun Karma emoticons Plurk has to reward enlightened plurkers.

Okay, in the past article I showed you a quick trick to post a Youtube video.  You can do the same with pictures, or you can use this slightly different method to post a picture on the Plurk Timeline.

Remember, if it doesn’t let you insert a picture this way, you need at least 25 Karma Credits to use this feature.  To bypass it, just enter the photo url in the Plurk Message box.  Otherwise enter it in the box if you have enough Karma Credits.

Than it will show up in the Horizontal Timeline.

You can also use this method and the method I showed in the Youtube Video posting to do links.  That’s it.

Another great feature of Plurk over Twitter is you can post videos and pictures right in your plurk.  It’s a simple process.  Go find what you want to post on Youtube or another video site.  In this example, I found a music video called Never Let Me Go by Family Force 5.  The URL is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24hR6j-x4fU.

Make sure you find the EXACT URL of what you want to list in your plurk.  Copy the URL from the address bar of your web browser.  Than go back to your plurk page and where you type your plurk message paste the URL.

Click on the plurk button and then look in your timeline.

VOILA!

There is a different method to insert the vid, but I’ll show you how to do it with the article “How to Post a Picture on Plurk”.

The Dashboard is here on the bottom of the Plurk Page.  It’s not the whole bottom part just the box around the Profile, Stats, Friends and Fans.  It’s easy to separate its look from the background.  To change it go to the top left corner of the Plurk Timeline where it says My Profile and click on the edit link.

Enter the following:
